Course Overview

MSF30422 Certificate III in Glass and Glazing reflects the role of individuals involved in manufacturing, processing, moving or installing various types of glass products. Job roles may be in glass processing, glazing or designed glazing in both residential and commercial operations.  

Workers use a range of technical knowledge to perform skilled work involving known routines, methods and procedures. They use discretion and judgement to adapt and transfer their skills and knowledge to different job needs and take responsibility for their own work within organisational parameters.  

In some states and territories there may be licensing requirements that link to this qualification, and other licensing requirements where the individual is required to work onsite. Depending on the jurisdiction, licensing or regulatory requirements may also apply to the use of some units in this qualification. Licensing of glazing work applies in Queensland, NSW and South Australia. Local regulations should be checked for details.

Course Structure

To be awarded the MSF30422 Certificate III in Glass and Glazing, students must complete a total of 23 units:

  • 8 core units
  • 15 elective units

This approach ensures that students gain a solid foundation in both theoretical knowledge and practical experience.

The MSF30422 Certificate III in Glass and Glazing is delivered over a total of 78 weeks, which includes:

  • 60 weeks of training and assessment
  • 18 weeks of scheduled breaks and holidays

This schedule is designed to allow time for study, reflection, and practical placement while maintaining a healthy work–life balance.

While there are no formal entry requirements specified in the national training package for this qualification, AEI Australia requires applicants to meet the following criteria to ensure readiness and success:

  • Be at least 18 years of age at the time of course commencement
  • Have successfully completed Year 12 or equivalent, or hold another relevant qualification
  • Participate in a course entry interview to assess suitability and individual learning needs
  • Demonstrate English language proficiency through one of the following:
    ✅  An IELTS score of 6.0 (no older than 2 years), or equivalent (e.g., PTE, TOEFL)
    ✅ Completion of at least 5 years of education in an English-speaking country
    ✅ Completion of a Certificate IV or higher-level course for at least 6 months in an Australian RTO
    ✅ Successful completion of AEI Australia’s English Placement Test

Applicants must provide documentary evidence to support their English language proficiency.
